Review Conference Queer Materialistic Perspectives on Violence

What a lovely location! I had the pleasure to join this coorganised conference in Innsbruck in November 2024. The sessions were so diverse filled with intelligent voices and exploration of the beauty of gender diversity. In particular, trans studies offers so many perspectives on deep philosophical, sociological, and psychological dimensions of gender expression and identification. The presented empirical research on gender and violence introduced me to narratives on violence of women and queer people. Personal suffering was shared and as well as forms of resistence. It was truely inspiring, empowering and disgusting. Thanks to everyone who made this conference possible.

For the next conference, I would recommend trigger warnings, especially when sexual harressment is described in detail. For me personally, as someone coming from a different academic background, I would have enjoyed a list of cited scholars in order to subsequently grasp the complexity of their research.
